Song of the Day: "God In Me" by Mary Mary ft. Kierra "KiKi" Sheard

Ok, so I am obsessed with this new song by Mary Mary featuring Kierra Sheard titled "God In Me". It has a crazy beat and it really has a great groove. now, I've always been partial to Mary Mary, but now i have to check out Kierra Sheard. I've never heard of her, but her voice is amazing. And this song is beautiful. It has swag even Kirk Franklin has to give gredit to. Check out the song here. Definitely a great song...love it! And the fashion in the music video, fabulous! Peace, Love, and Happiness!

Fashion News: Forever 21 Plus Size Line

Okay, so you all know that I'm between the largest size in standard sizes and the smallest of extended sizes right? Well with Forever 21, I usually can only fit into their loose Large tops. So finding out that May 1st, Forever 21 is launching their first extended sizes line, titled Faith 21, was like an epihany. I mean, now I can finally find inexpensive unique clothing in my size. It's the next best thing to Mike and Ikes for me. If you are a plus size, extended size, size sexy woman, definitely check it out! You can check out the look book here. More updates with that will soon come. Peace, Love and Happiness!

Confessions #1

I think I have a shopping problem...wait I KNOW I have a shopping problem. I can't be on my Mac for a minute without checking out the new inventory at my favorite online stores. When I say I live in my closet/room, I literally mean my clothes are taking over my room. I have a bin for graphic tees, tank tops, handbags, and winter clothes because they can't fit in my closet and dressers. I have a cloth hanging shelf in my closet for some of my jeans, shorts, and polos, again, because they don't fit anywhere. I even turned my bookcase into a shoe rack and denim shelf, with only one shelf for books. I have two closets, but it seems like not enough. And the cherry on top is that I have bags and bags of clothes in the bottom of my second closet that I can't even fit into that I have yet to get rid of. I need to see a therapist, or I can just blog and get it out of my system. My credit cards are MIA now (missing in action for those who are not all there). Did I mention I have random shoes boxes on the tops of my closets and my bookcase? Yea, I definitely need help. Peace, Love, and Happy Easter!

HAPPY EASTER!

Hey just wanted to say Happy Easter. I am not going to make it to church because my mother is ill, but I wish everyone a good day today. Here's a little tidbit about easter courtesy of Wikipedia (I know everyone doesn't trust it, but it gives some correct info)

Easter (Greek: Πάσχα, Ethiopic: ፍሲካ, Pascha) is an important annual religious feast in the Christian liturgical year.[1] According to Christian scripture, Jesus was resurrected from the dead three days[2] after his crucifixion. Many Christian denominations celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day or Easter Sunday[3] (also Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday), two days after Good Friday and three days after Maundy Thursday. The chronology of his death and resurrection is variously interpreted to be between A.D. 26 and 36. Easter also refers to the season of the church year called Eastertide or the Easter Season. Traditionally the Easter Season lasted for the forty days from Easter Day until Ascension Day but now officially lasts for the fifty days until Pentecost. The first week of the Easter Season is known as Easter Week or the Octave of Easter. Easter also marks the end of Lent, a season of fasting, prayer, and penance.

Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. Easter falls at some point between late March and late April each year (early April to early May in Eastern Christianity), following the cycle of the Moon. After several centuries of disagreement, all churches accepted the computation of the Alexandrian Church (now the Coptic Church) that Easter is the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon, which is the first moon whose 14th day (the ecclesiastic "full moon") is on or after March 21 (the ecclesiastic "vernal equinox").

Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover not only for much of its symbolism but also for its position in the calendar.

Cultural elements, such as the Easter Bunny and Easter egg hunts, have become part of the holiday's modern celebrations, and those aspects are often celebrated by many Christians and non-Christians alike. There are also some Christian denominations which do not celebrate Easter.

Ranting and Raving Part 1

Why is it that I attract sorry men? Now when I say sorry, I mean these qualifications

1. Nothing positive in their life
2. Not planning on doing anything with their life
3. Uneducated
4. Clearly into activities that are illegal
5. Only want to have sex and be friends with benefits minus the friends

I mean, I feel I'm a pretty good catch. I'm educated, have a career plan, and dare I say, I think I'm pretty cute, haha. However, all these men that do try to "holla" at me, are just plan eww, gross! Is my love life going to be this complicated. I mean, yes I have a child, and I'm not "Miss Independent" right now (No car, no place of my own, but I do make my own money), but dang, can't a sista get some love? And I'm not even thinking about trying to find Mister Right, because honestly, love won't find you if you keep looking for it. Hopefully, my Romeo will come in the form of this:

1. Style like Kanye West and Andre 3000
2. Intelligence like Common and Steve Erkel
3. Swag like Kid Cudi and Pharrell
4. His own money like Jay-Z (not talking amount, just someone who makes his money LEGALLY!)
5. Smooth like Usher
6. And a body like LL Cool J =)

Ok so the last one is partially optional, but you get the point. *Sigh* I guess in the meantime, I'll focus on school and my new job at Allstate Insurance. Maybe he'll get into an accident and call the OnStar center and I'll pick up...this is so sad, haha. Peace, Love, and Happiness!

Item of the Day: Vans Sk8 Super High Shoes

These sneakers are fly right? I have them in my closet, and I'm saving them for a special day (more details on that in a different entry). They are $59.99 at Journeys. I was the first one to buy them at the store in the mall in my city. Definitely dress them down with a white tee and classic skinny jeans, maybe even a high waist shorts if you're feeling sexy. Guys, definitely a tee and some FITTED jeans, not baggy like you got them from Heavy D or Fat Albert. This is my item of the day! Peace, Love and Happiness!
